‘Eagle Scout’

We had a very special treat at work yesterday.  A very cool man by the name of Ken, along with two of his volunteer assistants brought in a couple of beautiful raptors from his ‘Hawk Quest’ organization http://www.hawkquest.org  They travel around the area and give educational presentations, so as to make people like us aware of how important these birds are for our environment.  For our presentation, they brought in a Barn Owl, which apparently has the greatest hearing of ANY species in the entire animal kingdom, and our country’s National symbol, a Bald Eagle.  Both were stunning and it was the fastest hour I’ve spent at work since I started.  Really made me want to get outside and mingle with these creatures.  Here are a couple of photos from the event.

'How many licks does it take to....?'

'Kyle K., a.k.a. '-arry Potter.' I took this photo of him after he took mine. He took mine just before this and it, until I cropped out 74% of the photo, it was a complete mess. Of course I did not let him live this down all day.
