Trying to find a Zen moment

Ever since I’ve returned from Alaska, time has seemed to speed up on me.  I know I’m not alone on this, but it’s shocking nonetheless.  I had so many small projects and activities I wanted to do before I left for Indonesia that aren’t going to work out.  It’s a common story of your eyes being bigger than your stomach, but it still frustrates me.  On a positive note, one of the things I DID start was a modest exercise regimen.  In the past it’s been an all or none proposition, but this time around, I took things extremely slowly and did things that weren’t very taxing.  Three weeks into it and I am starting to feel a difference.  The lesson I learned is that a little goes a long way if you are consistent with it.  I think this lesson can be applied to many things, from learning to play the guitar to picking up a new language to domesticating a cobra.  It certainly has helped me with my fitness.  Chip, chip away…bit by bit

Anyway, today was another busy day and I’m not done yet.  The photo Jared was helping me with for my blog will be ready tomorrow, so this will have to do for now.

Alright, I’m off to wash and pack my clothes.  Have a nice nite!

5 & 4

Didn’t get a chance to write yesterday and nearly missed tonite too, but I’ll keep it short.  My brother Cody came over straight from work yesterday and stayed the nite.  A couple of big time party animals, after eating some pizza muffins, we made it about half way through the movie “Super Bad” before calling it a day.  In Cody’s defense, he spent the day working.

Today was a little more active.  Cody and I went for coffee in the morning, came back and did a little exercise, had a nice breakfast, hit the bookstore, then ran a couple of errands before stopping off at my Aunt Valerie’s school to meet a co-worker of hers that happens to be Indonesian; nice guy.  It turns out he is moving back to Indonesia next month to open up an international school.  He gave me a few pointers about Indonesia and we exchanged e-mails.  After that, we met J-Rod for lunch at Panaera.  By the time we got back home, my Dad, step Mom and Cody’s girlfriend, Lindsey were over here to say their goodbyes.  We all went to dinner (Mexican) and then came back to my Ma’s for a few photos.  I’m happy they made it over, but I feel terrible knowing that they have to wake up for work at an ungodly hour tomorrow.

I know it was a pain in the butt and you’ll probably be dragging a little tomorrow, gang, but thank you much for coming over to see me off!

The people have spoken!

Preparing for take-offTo be honest, it was only two or three people, but I listened to them.  After looking over my other blog options (starting over from scratch with a new address, etc.), I have decided to keep the site I have.  It’s just simpler that way as my friends and family (those two or three I mentioned above) already have it book-marked.  Besides, none of the other layouts inspired me.  I AM going to tinker with the design a little however.

This time next week I will be in Bangkok, Thailand with the rest of the volunteers, getting ready for our final stop; Indonesia.  Once we reach our destination, we will undergo pre-service training immediately and that lasts approximately three months.  I will try and keep things going and update things as they transpire.

Until then, I will document my last week here in L-Town, Florida.

Hope you all had a nice weekend!

P.S. Jill, if you see this, please send me a message via e-mail (olcoyote15@gmail.com).  I wasn’t able to find yours in your last message. m(_ _)m

It’s been real!

This is it, everyone. I’m going to be closing the lid on this blog, so that I may start a new one. I haven’t yet started it, but the new blog will be a way for me to let my family and friends know how I’m getting along in my next adventure, the Peace Corps.

Including today, I have 11 days left until I depart for Indonesia. I hope to keep you all informed as much as I can. I understand that Indonesia is more connected than some other Peace Corps posts around the globe, but time will tell. In the meanwhile, I’ve got many things to take care of before I leave, so I will be signing off for a while.

I hope this finds you well and I am looking forward to giving you the new website soon.

Wish me luck!
